Brazil's to triple ethanol production up to 2020, says Petrobras

RIO - Brazil's ethanol production is expected to triple until 2020. Alan Kardec Pinto, president of Petrobras Biofuel, divulged this information during his lecture in the "Biofuels - the Energy for the 21st Century" Seminar, promoted by Infoglobo on Copacabana Palace Hotel, this Monday.

According to the executive, production is expected to increase from the present 25 billion liters per year to around 70 billion liters per year in 2020. This production increase expectation includes the new cellulose ethanol technology, which makes possible to take advantage of sugar cane's bagasse cellulose, or other plants cellulose, to produce fuel.
