Farm groups: It's not ethanol

Soaring oil costs, other factors cause high food prices

Farmers want Americans to know they - and increasing production of ethanol - are not causing higher food prices.

Leaders of five national farm organizations and the Renewable Fuels Association took that message to the press via teleconference May 28.

The whole question of food versus fuel is creating angst in many areas of the nation, and around the globe, said Bob Dinneen, president of the Renewable Fuels Association.
